The fear of man is a snare. It is time God's people arise and shine in the earth. Christ has called us to be the light of the world. We therefore must come out of the cave and engage society in which we live. What we refuse to confront, we can never correct. No longer can we merely curse the darkness. It is time to be the light and shine bright.The early church prayed earnestly for God to fill them with His Holy Spirit and boldness that they might effectively speak His Word (Acts 4:24,29-31). The American church prays to be blessed, so we might dwell in the Christian country club and comforts of our era. This is not the heart of God, nor the burden of the Lord. Is Christ satisfied? Surely not. Christ Jesus came to "seek and save the lost" (Luke 19:10). It is time we take up our cross, deny ourselves, and seek the lost for whom Christ died.The first thing Jesus said to His disciples is "I will make you fishers of men" (Mark 1:17). The last thing He said to His men was "Go into all the world and preach the good news" (Mark 16:15). Why is it the first and last thing Jesus told us to do, is the last thing we endeavor to do? Obviously the church of America has become self-centered, self-righteous, and self-absorbed.It is hard to manifest the power of the resurrection of Christ when you have not yet died to your own life. Self-preservation is the biggest hindrance to the going forth of the Gospel. We must embrace the cause of Christ, hold to the burden of the Lord, and get a new battle cry.We overcome the enemy and influence society by the blood of Jesus that washes away our sins, telling the word of our testimony, and "not loving our lives unto death" (Revelation 12:10). It is time for the Church of Jesus and the people that call themselves Christians to "lift up their voice" and like a trumpet give the peoples of the earth a clarion call and clearly make known to them that "today is the day of salvation."
