Almost any shot will look better if you take two or three steps closer to your subject. Filling the frame entirely with your subject will make a terrific difference to your photos.Alternatively, instead of moving closer, use the Optical Zoom of your camera to get a close up shot. Don't use your Digital Zoom as it will degrade your image quality.When taking shots of family and friends, most people place the subject's full body in the frame, or place head and arms in the shot. Instead, fill the frame with your subject's FACE only - particularly if they are smiling or are in a moment of reflection.Why does this work? With less clutter in the image, there's less to draw the eye away from the main subject of your photo. Also, human faces (particularly children's faces) are something we all feel pleasure looking at.If you can't get close enough when you're taking the shot, you can zoom in later using photo editing software - crop out everything except the subject's face and see what a difference it makes.When using the viewfinder for close shots, be careful of Parallax. New DVD releases for November 2005.

As winter approaches, it is time to think about ways to entertain ourselves during the coldest months of the year. Some of you might be interested in outdoor sports like skiing or snowboarding, but I am more concerned with simply staying warm. I will be a spectator for the next few months, and luckily there are a number of awesome DVD movies coming out just in time. Lets have a look at some upcoming releases for November:
Star Wars III Revenge of the Sith
This is one that we have all been waiting for. If you havent already seen it, you should be ashamed of yourself. This is the final picture in the Star Wars saga, and the one in which young Skywalker turns to the dark side and becomes Darth Vader. Ive already seen this in the theater countless times, but I cant wait to watch it in the comfort of my own home. Starring Hayden Christensen, Natalie Portman, and Ewan MacGregor. Directed by George Lucas.
War of the Worlds
This is an adaptation of the classic H.G. Wells novel. Orson Welles also produced a radio broadcast based upon the novel that drove people to the brink of madness back in the late 1930s. In case you havent heard, it is about an invading alien force from the far reaches of outer space. This a horror movie packaged as science fiction because it plays on some our greatest collective fears. Starring Tom Cruise, Tim Robbins, Dakota Fanning. Directed by Steven Spielberg.
Madagaskar
This is the smash hit childrens movie of the season. It follows the exciting adventures of a lion, hippo, giraffe, and zebra as they try to avoid being shipped back to Africa. All the hijinks and heroism you would expect from a group of animated animals can be found in this wonderful release from the makers of Shrek and Shark Tale. Starring the voices of Ben Stiller, Chris Rock, and Jada Pinkett Smith. Directed by Eric Darnell.
The Polar Express
Just in time for Christmas, another entertaining childrens movie. This one is about a young boy whose faith in Santa Claus is rewarded with a trip to the North Pole on the Polar Express. Isnt every childs dream to meet Santa Claus? This is a great family movie narrated by Tom Hanks. Starring Eddie Deezen, Nona Gaye, and Charles Fleisher. Directed by Robert Zemeckis.

Cosemel never had a change as Hurricane Wilma came ashore as a Category Four Hurricane and leveled the tourist hot spot. Wholistic and Empowering practitioners come with many titles, in different shapes, of varied forms, and with imaginative descriptions. Some do not identify themselves as "wholistic" or "empowering" at all. Some may even resist such designations. Many have developed creative titles to identify their special niches.By "wholistic" I mean a helping professional who sees and treats you as a whole person. By "empowering" I mean one who helps you to find your own power within yourself. At any given time in your life, you may work with many different helpers, even for the same issue.Getting StartedTo start your search for a wholistic and/or empowering practitioner: turn within. That is to say, turn to your own inner wisdom. Ask, "What is my intention?" "What are my needs?" "What do I desire?" If you are unclear about your needs, look for someone who can help you clarify them! Looking for help outside yourself is an act of empowerment if you stay connected with your inner self; looking for help outside yourself is an act of disempowerment if you believe that you are less important than the practitioner.You may find it helpful to write your intention and make a list of goals and wants and needs to facilitate your search for help outside yourself. For example, if you prefer to work with someone who listens to you, pass up story tellers who talk about themselves and others as a means of teaching you something. If you experience this or any other approach as a waste of time, you will waste your time. Remember, your intention is to find your match, not make anyone wrong.Are you seeking a Personal Consultant? Attorney? Therapist? Chiropractor? Energy Healer? Spiritual Practitioner? Accountant? Meditation Expert? Medical Doctor? Coach? Nutritionist? Financial Advisor? Career Counselor? Real Estate Agent? Massage Therapist? Mentor? Hypnotherapist? Acupuncturist? Friend?The list can continue with complex or creative titles, since helpers oriented toward empowerment and wholism often have more than one area of expertise. Some technologies require academic degrees and/or licensing in order to practice what they say they practice. Some have other impressive credentials or vast public exposure.You engage your rational thought processes to narrow your choices. Even more important than the rational function is honoring your heart and your intuition. Starting and continuing to check inside yourself leads you to wiser choices.First ImpressionsKeep your needs in your mind and heart when making your initial contact. Ask the practitioner what he or she has to offer. If there seems to be a match, reveal your needs briefly, then listen to the response. Have you been heard? Is the practitioner trying to sell services or trying to understand if your needs are those he or she can serve?Of course, this person is running a business and does so by selling products and services, but you have a right to know now if the practitioner's integrity is strong enough to put your needs first. This conversation is a preview of the ways you will relate to each other if you hire this person.When I made a 2300-mile move to Santa Monica from the East Coast in 1986, my search for wholistic practitioners was at its height. I sought and continue to seek services for myself as well as for making informed referrals as part of my own business. I have experienced the spectrum from disappointment to deep satisfaction, even enthusiasm. Fortunately, I have had more of the latter than the former.Several years ago, I heard about someone who works with sound. Since my voice is a vehicle for transformation and healing for many clients and workshop participants, I was interested in knowing more about his work. After receiving the requested literature, I telephoned to ask him to talk about his work -- I wanted to hear his voice. He said, "Everything's in the literature that I just sent you." Everything about sound is on the written page? I think not. I tossed his literature in the recycling bin.Delightful and rewarding experiences finding solid professional help are far more prevalent for me. Initial contacts have been made through friends' suggestions, clients' reports, colleagues' recommendations, ads and articles in various publications, and direct mail promotions. While my extensive networking yields most of my contacts, I was delighted to find one of my most satisfying practitioners from her paid advertisement. I resonated with her choice of language and found her photograph pleasant. When I called, I felt good about her spoken words, clarity, and voice. I made an appointment immediately.Remember Who You AreRemember, you are the client (or patient or customer). That means you are the decision-maker. The practitioner you hire does not make decisions for you. Now is an important time for you to claim your own power -- empowerment from within, not power of one over another.So, decide, "Do I want to work with this practitioner?" If you work with someone because your spouse or a parent or your boss has insisted, be clear about such a decision not only with yourself, but with the practitioner. The wise professional supports you differently if he or she knows you are there under duress or for someone else's needs.If you are uncertain that a practitioner is a match for you in a long-term relationship, you may want to invest in just one session. Most practitioners offer workshops or literature or initial consultations or telephone conversations to assist you in your decision making. Sometimes these offerings are free of charge to you. Do not abuse introductory offers or introductions. Remember, practitioners earn a living by giving support to clients who pay for their time.If you cannot make up your mind or read your heart, that is your responsibility, not the practitioner's. Both of you need to give and share honestly, but within reason. Please note: if you need someone to convince you, then you are not looking for a wholistic or empowering practitioner.During the initial contacts, keep turning within. How do you feel while you are with this person or as you read this person's literature? Do you feel trusting? Do you feel empowered? If you have been depressed, do you feel hopeful? If you have been distressed, do you feel more calm? Do you sense mutual respect? Do you believe you can get your needs met with this person's assistance?It is important to be open and realistic and to put into proper perspective the ideas that you hear or read. The practitioner may say something that you do not like. (e.g., "For your health's sake, it is essential that you quit smoking.") If you are overly critical or seek the flawless practitioner or look only for agreement with your own opinions, you may not find the help you need. After all, your thoughts and beliefs and opinions have created the situation in which you find yourself. You need something to be different in order to change.
The Appointment is ScheduledAfter making your appointment, keep turning within. What do you want to get from the session? What is your intention? Think about your needs, pay attention to your feelings, and listen deeply. Stay flexible to new insights that may reveal themselves just by turning within.Between the time of the appointment scheduling and the consultation itself, communication occurs through the energy field. The work has begun, regardless of how much either of you is aware of the connection.
At the AppointmentSo now you are at your scheduled appointment: keep turning within. How are you received by the practitioner or receptionist? How does the session start? Does he or she treat you with respect by asking your experiences or perceptions or intention?Remember, you are the client. Your perceptions are important, no matter how much you or someone else values the expertise of this person. Does this practitioner act as if you are a whole person, or just a tooth ache or a muscle spasm or an interesting case? Your symptoms have prompted you to seek help; however, you are a whole person, not fragments of discomfort.As the session continues, keep turning within. Are your needs addressed? Are you encouraged to go below the surface of what you say? Do you feel uplifted or empowered? Are you given suggestions for supporting your own healing or growth or knowledge after the session? Do you know what to do next? Do you feel safe, nurtured, and/or understood?Next Steps and Follow-upAt the end and following the session, keep turning within. Does the follow-up support address your needs? Some discomfort may be necessary for your growth, so do not invalidate a worthwhile experience or potential growth because of some discomfort. If what you have done in the past is no longer working for you, you need a change. That change may include lack of familiarity and/or comfort.How do you know if you want to engage this person again? Of course, the answer is within. Not everyone is a match for your needs, beliefs, and personality. Change is constant. You change, practitioners change, matches change, needs and values change. Finding the appropriate wholistic and/or empowering practitioner is a dynamic process, not an inflexible one-time decision.Keep turning within. At any given time in your life, you may work with many different helpers, even for the same issue.Getting StartedTo start your search for a wholistic and/or empowering practitioner: turn within. That is to say, turn to your own inner wisdom. Ask, "What is my intention?" "What are my needs?" "What do I desire?" If you are unclear about your needs, look for someone who can help you clarify them! Looking for help outside yourself is an act of empowerment if you stay connected with your inner self; looking for help outside yourself is an act of disempowerment if you believe that you are less important than the practitioner.You may find it helpful to write your intention and make a list of goals and wants and needs to facilitate your search for help outside yourself. For example, if you prefer to work with someone who listens to you, pass up story tellers who talk about themselves and others as a means of teaching you something. If you experience this or any other approach as a waste of time, you will waste your time. Remember, your intention is to find your match, not make anyone wrong.Are you seeking a Personal Consultant? Attorney? Therapist? Chiropractor? Energy Healer? Spiritual Practitioner? Accountant? Meditation Expert? Medical Doctor? Coach? Nutritionist? Financial Advisor? Career Counselor? Real Estate Agent? Massage Therapist? Mentor? Hypnotherapist? Acupuncturist? Friend?The list can continue with complex or creative titles, since helpers oriented toward empowerment and wholism often have more than one area of expertise. Some technologies require academic degrees and/or licensing in order to practice what they say they practice. Some have other impressive credentials or vast public exposure.You engage your rational thought processes to narrow your choices. Even more important than the rational function is honoring your heart and your intuition. Starting and continuing to check inside yourself leads you to wiser choices.First ImpressionsKeep your needs in your mind and heart when making your initial contact. Ask the practitioner what he or she has to offer. If there seems to be a match, reveal your needs briefly, then listen to the response. Have you been heard? Is the practitioner trying to sell services or trying to understand if your needs are those he or she can serve?Of course, this person is running a business and does so by selling products and services, but you have a right to know now if the practitioner's integrity is strong enough to put your needs first. This conversation is a preview of the ways you will relate to each other if you hire this person.When I made a 2300-mile move to Santa Monica from the East Coast in 1986, my search for wholistic practitioners was at its height. I sought and continue to seek services for myself as well as for making informed referrals as part of my own business. I have experienced the spectrum from disappointment to deep satisfaction, even enthusiasm. Fortunately, I have had more of the latter than the former.Several years ago, I heard about someone who works with sound. Since my voice is a vehicle for transformation and healing for many clients and workshop participants, I was interested in knowing more about his work. After receiving the requested literature, I telephoned to ask him to talk about his work -- I wanted to hear his voice. He said, "Everything's in the literature that I just sent you." Everything about sound is on the written page? I think not. I tossed his literature in the recycling bin.Delightful and rewarding experiences finding solid professional help are far more prevalent for me. Initial contacts have been made through friends' suggestions, clients' reports, colleagues' recommendations, ads and articles in various publications, and direct mail promotions. While my extensive networking yields most of my contacts, I was delighted to find one of my most satisfying practitioners from her paid advertisement. I resonated with her choice of language and found her photograph pleasant. When I called, I felt good about her spoken words, clarity, and voice. I made an appointment immediately.Remember Who You AreRemember, you are the client (or patient or customer). That means you are the decision-maker. The practitioner you hire does not make decisions for you. Now is an important time for you to claim your own power -- empowerment from within, not power of one over another.So, decide, "Do I want to work with this practitioner?" If you work with someone because your spouse or a parent or your boss has insisted, be clear about such a decision not only with yourself, but with the practitioner. The wise professional supports you differently if he or she knows you are there under duress or for someone else's needs.If you are uncertain that a practitioner is a match for you in a long-term relationship, you may want to invest in just one session. Most practitioners offer workshops or literature or initial consultations or telephone conversations to assist you in your decision making. Sometimes these offerings are free of charge to you. Do not abuse introductory offers or introductions. Remember, practitioners earn a living by giving support to clients who pay for their time.If you cannot make up your mind or read your heart, that is your responsibility, not the practitioner's. Both of you need to give and share honestly, but within reason. Please note: if you need someone to convince you, then you are not looking for a wholistic or empowering practitioner.During the initial contacts, keep turning within. How do you feel while you are with this person or as you read this person's literature? Do you feel trusting? Do you feel empowered? If you have been depressed, do you feel hopeful? If you have been distressed, do you feel more calm? Do you sense mutual respect? Do you believe you can get your needs met with this person's assistance?It is important to be open and realistic and to put into proper perspective the ideas that you hear or read. The practitioner may say something that you do not like. (e.g., "For your health's sake, it is essential that you quit smoking.") If you are overly critical or seek the flawless practitioner or look only for agreement with your own opinions, you may not find the help you need. After all, your thoughts and beliefs and opinions have created the situation in which you find yourself. You need something to be different in order to change.
The Appointment is ScheduledAfter making your appointment, keep turning within. What do you want to get from the session? What is your intention? Think about your needs, pay attention to your feelings, and listen deeply. Stay flexible to new insights that may reveal themselves just by turning within.Between the time of the appointment scheduling and the consultation itself, communication occurs through the energy field. The work has begun, regardless of how much either of you is aware of the connection.
At the AppointmentSo now you are at your scheduled appointment: keep turning within. How are you received by the practitioner or receptionist? How does the session start? Does he or she treat you with respect by asking your experiences or perceptions or intention?Remember, you are the client. Your perceptions are important, no matter how much you or someone else values the expertise of this person. Does this practitioner act as if you are a whole person, or just a tooth ache or a muscle spasm or an interesting case? Your symptoms have prompted you to seek help; however, you are a whole person, not fragments of discomfort.As the session continues, keep turning within. Are your needs addressed? Are you encouraged to go below the surface of what you say? Do you feel uplifted or empowered? Are you given suggestions for supporting your own healing or growth or knowledge after the session? Do you know what to do next? Do you feel safe, nurtured, and/or understood?Next Steps and Follow-upAt the end and following the session, keep turning within. Does the follow-up support address your needs? Some discomfort may be necessary for your growth, so do not invalidate a worthwhile experience or potential growth because of some discomfort. If what you have done in the past is no longer working for you, you need a change. That change may include lack of familiarity and/or comfort.How do you know if you want to engage this person again? Of course, the answer is within. Not everyone is a match for your needs, beliefs, and personality. Change is constant. You change, practitioners change, matches change, needs and values change. Finding the appropriate wholistic and/or empowering practitioner is a dynamic process, not an inflexible one-time decision.Keep turning within. Toensure that your account is not compromised, please clickthe link below and confirm your identity." "During our regular verification of accounts, we couldn'tverify your information. Please click here to update andverify your information"They're trying to get information from you such as creditcard details, bank account information, Social Securitynumber, passwords, or other sensitive information.Once they get your personal details, they go for the shortterm gains by raiding your bank account and "maxing out"your credit cards. They can also take out loans in yourname. You probably won't know about it until the loancompany's start chasing the overdue payments.Legitimate companies will not ask for personal informationby email. Don't let the style of the email mislead you, it's very easy to copy bank headers. Don't use any linksfrom these emails as they can make links look as ifthey're going to one place, but they're being redirectedto another.If you get an email with an attachment and you don'trecognise the sender, don't open it, delete it.Attachments to emails can transfer a virus; it's oftenlaunched when you open the attachment (usually by double-clicking the attachment icon). Malware - software designed to infiltrate or damagecomputer systems. Malware commonly includes computerviruses, worms, Trojan horses, spyware and adware. Viruses - a computer virus behaves in a similar way to abiological virus, which spreads by inserting itself intoliving cells. The negative effect of computer virusesincludes uncontrolled self-reproduction, which canoverwhelm your computer. They can erase files and corruptthe operating system. They can arrive on a floppy disk, from a download, or an attachment to an e-mail. Worms: a self-replicating computer program similar to acomputer virus. A worms self-contained and doesn't needanother program to propagate itself. Worms tend to harmthe network and consume bandwidth, whereas viruses infector corrupt files on a targeted computer. Trojan horses: Trojan horse programs can't operate on theirown like viruses or worms. A Trojan horse, technically anormal computer program, does not possess the means tospread itself. But have you ever considered getting one for your home?Maybe you thought that a ceiling fan would be too expensive, or too difficult to install, but that's a common misconception. Really, ceiling fans are competitively priced with the best freestanding fans, and installing one is about as difficult as putting in a new light fitting. Additionally, you might not have realised that ceiling fans are also useful in winter: as warm air rises, they can blow it down again, thus saving on heating bills.The average home ceiling fan rotates about three times per second on the highest speed setting, for safety reasons. To rotate faster, as industrial fans do, the fan would need to have sharper blades, which poses an obvious health hazard. Still, three complete rotations per minute isn't that slow, and larger fans especially can really make their presence felt.One thing to consider, if you're thinking of getting a ceiling fan, is getting one with a light integrated. Purchase some "hair friendly" clips and hair ties to help a child keep their hair off their face, and reduce the chance of tangling or matting. Stay away from any hairclips with sharp teeth, because they can cut into the hair and cause potential hair damage.
Tangles - all parents know that dealing with tangles is a nightmare for both parent and child. Heres how to reduce the trauma of removing tangles:
1. Hold the section of hair you"re trying to comb out.
2. Hold it taut so the child won"t feel you ripping through the ends.
3. Spray a good leave-in detangler on the knot.
4. You can also comb conditioner in while the child"s hair is still wet. Children need conditioner too (avoid heavy types and stick with conditioners that are specifically called "light" conditioners).

Is Menopause Bleeding A Cause For Concern?

If you haven't had a period for a long time and think you are well into the menopause, vaginal bleeding can cause you a great deal of concern. Don't panic though; there are a number of possible reasons for your bleed. Even if the bleeding does turn out to be a sign of something more serious, getting a diagnosis and early treatment should ensure you can solve the problem. The first possibility is that you are still having occasional periods. As women go through the menopause their cycles often become irregular and missed periods are common. They can become lighter and shorter or heavier and longer; all women are different. Although women are classed as being post menopausal when they haven't had a period for a year, they may still have an occasional period after this time.Once you really are post menopausal, there are other possible reasons for bleeding. Decreased levels of estrogen mean the walls of the vaginal become thinner and generally more prone to bleeding, especially after sexual intercourse. You may also experience bleeding due to a vaginal infection, or growths in the uterus. A trip to your doctor or gynecologist should put your mind at rest in these cases. The most serious possible cause of vaginal bleeding is cancer of the uterus, known as endometrial cancer. There is a fairly high incidence of this cancer in North America, with 40,000 new endometrial cancer cases and 7,500 deaths predicted for 2007. Women are more at risk when they are undergoing Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) that only involves estrogen and not progesterone, as progesterone protects the lining of the uterus. The sooner endometrial cancer is diagnosed, the more chance there is of an effective cure. Vaginal bleeding is a very early indicator of this disease, so you should always consult your doctor if you experience unexplained vaginal bleeding. Typically, bleeding caused by endometrial cancer has certain characteristics. Women usually experience a watery, blood streaked flow, with the proportion of blood gradually increasing over time. This may be accompanied by pain whilst passing urine, pain in the pelvis and pain during sexual intercourse. Of course these three additional symptoms can be indicators of other post menopause problems so don't panic, but do mention them to your doctor. If your doctor suspects possible endometrial cancer they will usually perform a transvaginal ultrasound so see if the endometrium, or uterus lining, is unusually thick. If it is they will then recommend a biopsy where a sample of the tissue form the lining of the uterus is removed and sent for laboratory testing. If you experience post menopausal bleeding, there is most likely a simple explanation. However, if you are worried you should always consult your doctor or gynecologist. At the very least they will be able to put your mind at rest, or prescribe something to ease your symptoms. Research in the area is far greater than in the recent past and we can learn what might have happened to earlier civilizations on earth. Atlantis is a given name for a civilization that inhabited many islands and coastal regions, in my mind. The idea of one central location makes little sense when one considers such things as Ice Ages and changes in the flow of the Gulf Stream and climate that resulted. Because it lasted for from 30,000 to 100,000 years and may have co-existed with other civilizations rising and falling it is most inauspicious to debate one specific time when it was in Tara or Crete or the Azores or Bimini or even Finias. That seems to be the usual debate among the over 25,000 books written about just this one lost civilization. As long as people don't integrate all facts they inevitably just come up with theories to fit pet or prevailing concepts. In Gateway to Atlantis, 'The Search for the source of a lost Civilization' we see a far better scholar who is doing the right kind of investigation. Mapping of the ocean bottoms and geological understandings as well as studying glacial deposits and tree rings gives a better picture of history than history books."In 1960 a scientific paper by Wallace S. Broecker and his colleagues Maurice Ewing and Bruce C. Heezen, of Lamont Geological Observatory at Columbia University, Palisades, New York, appeared in the 'American Journal of Science'. Entitled 'Evidence for an Abrupt Change in Climate close to 11,000 years ago', it advanced the theory that a 'number of geographically isolated systems suggested that the warming of world-wide climate which occurred at the close of Wisconsin glacial times was extremely abrupt. (3)By examining sediment cores taken from various deep-sea locations, Broecker and his team were able to demonstrate that around c. 9000 BC. the surface water temperature of the Atlantic Ocean increased by between six and ten degrees centigrade, (4) enough to alter its entire ecosystem. More significantly, it was found that the bottom waters of the Cariaco Trench in the Caribbean Sea, off Venezuela, suddenly stagnated, {The Gulf Stream being sent back south from hitting the land around the Azores when the water level was lower suddenly started warming the Iceland and British Isles regions, again.} showing that an abrupt change in water circulation had taken place coincident to the warming of the oceans. (5) Additionally, the silt deposits washing into the Gulf of Mexico from the Mississippi Valley abruptly halted and were retained in the delta and valleys, as the waters from the glacier-bound Great Lakes switched direction and began draining through the previously frozen northern outlets. (6) With extreme rapidity, the water levels of these lakes shrank from maximum volume, down to the much lower level they occupy today. (7)Among the data drawn on by Broecker and his team to make their findings was the work conducted in 1957 by Cesare Emiliani of the Department of Geology at the University of Miami. He found that deep-sea cores displayed clear evidence of an abrupt temperature turn around in 9000 BC. was responsible for the other changes set out by Broecker et al. (8) However, since other cores examined by Emiliani had not shown the same rapid transition, he decided that the anomalous cores lacked vital sediment layers covering a period of several thousand years of ecological history, and so dismissed them as unreliable. (9) Yet Broecker and his colleagues disputed Emiliani's interpretation of the results. They could find no reason to suppose that key sediment layers could have been lost in the manner suggested. As a consequence, they reinstated Emiliani's controversial findings as crucial evidence of a major shift in oceanic temperatures around 11,000 years ago. (10)Although Broecker et al seemed keen to promote a date of c. 9000 BC for the rapid transition from glacial to post-glacial ages, there are indications that this event did not occur until a slightly later period. At least three lake sites in the Great Basin region revealed carbon-14 dates around 8000 BC for a maximum water level shortly 'before' they experienced a sudden desiccation after the withdrawal of the ice sheets. (11) In addition to this, marine shells from the St. Lawrence Valley, which provided evidence of an invasion of seawater coincident to a rapid ice retreat, frequently produced dates 'post' 9000 BC. (12)Broecker and his colleagues accepted the presence of these much lower dates and suggested that the whole matter was complicated by the fact that there had been an estimated 200-year resurgence of glacial conditions, known as the Valders re-advance, around the mid-ninth millenium BC. They therefore acknowledged that their own findings might in fact relate to the recession of the ice fields after this time, bringing the dates of their suggested 'major fluctuation in climate' and the 'sharp change in oceanic conditions' down to well below c. 9000 BC. (13)THE EVIDENCE OF POLLEN SPECTRAFurther evidence that dramatic changes accompanied the transition from glacial to post-glacial ages came from the work of Herbert E. Wright Jnr, of the School of Earth Sciences at the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, (14) and J Gordon Ogden III of the Department of Botany and Bacteriology at the Ohio Wesleyan University, Delaware. (15) Both examined the pollen spectra range from sediment cores taken from various lake sites in the Great Lakes area and found they provided clear evidence of an abrupt shift in flora at the end of glaciation. The spruce forests that had thrived in the cold harsh climate for many thousands of years were supplanted swiftly, first by pine and then by mixed hardwood forests, such as birch and oak. Deciduous trees, as we know, only thrive in a warmer climate.The significance of these findings is the acceleration at which this transition took place. In an article for the journal 'Quaternary Paleoecology' in 1967, Ogden pointed out that some pollen spectra samples showed a 50 per cent replacement from spruce to pine occurring in just 10 centimetres of sediment. (16) In one sample taken from a site named Glacial Lake Aitken in Minnesota, the transition from 55 per cent to 18 per cent spruce pollen occurred in only 7.6 centimetres of sediment, re- presenting a deposition corresponding to just 170 years. (17) The problem here is that conventional geologists and paleoecologists consider that the transition from glacial to post-glacial ages occurred over several 'thousand' years, not just a few hundred {The time it takes for one or two trees to live and die.} years.These findings so baffled Ogden that he was led to comment: 'The only mechanism sufficient to produce a change of the kind described here would therefore appear to be a rapid and dramatic change in temperature and/or precipitation approximately 10,000 years ago.' (18)What kind of climatic 'event' might have been responsible for this 'rapid and dramatic change in temperature' {Could this relate to the buttercups found frozen and undigested in Mammoth mouths of the Arctic?} in the American Midwest, sometime around c. 8000 BC? Had it been a consequence of the proposed cometary impact that devastated the western hemisphere during this same epoch?The knowledge that some 65 million years ago the Cretaceous period had been abruptly brought to a close by just such an impact has softened the most stubborn of minds concerning such a possibility. Broecker himself, in an article written for 'Scientific American' in 1983, now accepted that asteroid or comet impacts might be responsible for the instigation and termination of glacial ages. (19)This is indeed what Emilio Spedicato has suggested as the mechanism behind the revolution in climate and ocean temperature experienced during this period…" (20)We will return to implications related to this and the work of Mr. Collins throughout this encyclopedia as we develop real history from actual facts rather than the Bible Narrative. It should be evident that these climate changes had significant impacts on society and created a loss of culture and technology in certain areas of the world. (12)Broecker and his colleagues accepted the presence of these much lower dates and suggested that the whole matter was complicated by the fact that there had been an estimated 200-year resurgence of glacial conditions, known as the Valders re-advance, around the mid-ninth millenium BC. They therefore acknowledged that their own findings might in fact relate to the recession of the ice fields after this time, bringing the dates of their suggested 'major fluctuation in climate' and the 'sharp change in oceanic conditions' down to well below c. 9000 BC. (13)THE EVIDENCE OF POLLEN SPECTRAFurther evidence that dramatic changes accompanied the transition from glacial to post-glacial ages came from the work of Herbert E. Wright Jnr, of the School of Earth Sciences at the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, (14) and J Gordon Ogden III of the Department of Botany and Bacteriology at the Ohio Wesleyan University, Delaware. (15) Both examined the pollen spectra range from sediment cores taken from various lake sites in the Great Lakes area and found they provided clear evidence of an abrupt shift in flora at the end of glaciation. The spruce forests that had thrived in the cold harsh climate for many thousands of years were supplanted swiftly, first by pine and then by mixed hardwood forests, such as birch and oak. Deciduous trees, as we know, only thrive in a warmer climate.The significance of these findings is the acceleration at which this transition took place. In an article for the journal 'Quaternary Paleoecology' in 1967, Ogden pointed out that some pollen spectra samples showed a 50 per cent replacement from spruce to pine occurring in just 10 centimetres of sediment. (16) In one sample taken from a site named Glacial Lake Aitken in Minnesota, the transition from 55 per cent to 18 per cent spruce pollen occurred in only 7.6 centimetres of sediment, re- presenting a deposition corresponding to just 170 years. (17) The problem here is that conventional geologists and paleoecologists consider that the transition from glacial to post-glacial ages occurred over several 'thousand' years, not just a few hundred {The time it takes for one or two trees to live and die.} years.These findings so baffled Ogden that he was led to comment: 'The only mechanism sufficient to produce a change of the kind described here would therefore appear to be a rapid and dramatic change in temperature and/or precipitation approximately 10,000 years ago.' (18)What kind of climatic 'event' might have been responsible for this 'rapid and dramatic change in temperature' {Could this relate to the buttercups found frozen and undigested in Mammoth mouths of the Arctic?} in the American Midwest, sometime around c. 8000 BC? Had it been a consequence of the proposed cometary impact that devastated the western hemisphere during this same epoch?The knowledge that some 65 million years ago the Cretaceous period had been abruptly brought to a close by just such an impact has softened the most stubborn of minds concerning such a possibility. Broecker himself, in an article written for 'Scientific American' in 1983, now accepted that asteroid or comet impacts might be responsible for the instigation and termination of glacial ages. (19)This is indeed what Emilio Spedicato has suggested as the mechanism behind the revolution in climate and ocean temperature experienced during this period…" (20)We will return to implications related to this and the work of Mr. Collins throughout this encyclopedia as we develop real history from actual facts rather than the Bible Narrative. It should be evident that these climate changes had significant impacts on society and created a loss of culture and technology in certain areas of the world. You Can?t Change Him ? Stop Trying!No matter how terrific your spouse may seem, nobody?s perfect. This may seem like an obvious statement, but it is one we often need to remind ourselves. When we?re first in a relationship, it?s easy to put someone on a pedestal. The beginning of a relationship can be so much fun that it?s hard to remember that your partner must have flaws. Forgetting that your partner is imperfect, though, can be dangerous. It makes it hard to keep your expectations on a realistic level. No matter how well you get along, there are going to be times when you disagree. You?ll also experience times when your partner won?t understand your side of things. Never assume that your partner can read your mind. Communication is the key to keeping things realistic and functional. Make sure that you understand each other when you?re talking. When you accept that you won?t always agree with each other, but you?ll respect each other, you?re taking a big step.Remember, people don?t change who they are. They may grow and evolve, but their personalities remain the same. By the age of 20, the majority of us have developed our full set of beliefs, values, and personality traits. By believing that you can change someone, your relationship will be doomed from the beginning. Think about it, you?re expecting a dramatic change from your partner that you?d never even consider taking on for yourself. This is simply unfair to your partner. By doing this, you?re essentially getting the relationship off one-sided. If this is the way things are going, it will never work.Since people don?t change, it is your responsibility to yourself and your potential partner to be realistic. Build solid dating skills that will help you to screen prospective partners. You?ll need to look for people that you won?t feel the urge to change. If a person is compatible from the start, then the odds are that this person will remain compatible in the future. Keep in mind that compatible doesn?t mean perfect. It just means that the person has characteristics you enjoy, and that you don?t feel the need to change. By keeping this in mind, you?ll be much more realistic when you date, and will be much more fair. You?ll end up in happier relationships, and your expectations will be more achievable. When you launch a new website you must register a unique domain name with an authorized registrar. When the internet was first starting, all domain names and IP addresses were registered through one organization, Internic. Eventually Network Solutions took over the role as "keeper" of the internet domain names. Today, there are hundreds of websites where you can register your domain name but Network Solutions still maintains the main database of domain names. Some websites charge as little as $2.95 per year for your domain name while others charge as much as $35 per year for the exact same service. Some even offer one year free if you register your domain name with them and host your website on their servers. Why pay $35 when you can register your domain name for much less at another website?So why does Network Solutions charge $35 a year if they are the keeper of the database and their resellers charge a fraction or even nothing? Who knows and who cares! Register your domain with one of the cheaper providers and you'll be fine. A word caution - be care who you choose to host your website. Getting a free year of your domain name isn't worth it if your webhost is unreliable and your website is down more than it's up.You pay for your domain name on a yearly basis. It's a separate charge from your webhosting bill. When you register your domain name choose the autorenewal option if it's available. This way your domain name will not expire if you forget to renew it. If your domain name expires, it's free for anyone else to register so you need to stay on top of when it's expiring. Also registering your domain name for a 3 to 5 year term will often save you money. For example, godaddy.com charges $8.95 a year for your domain name but only $7.25 a year if you register for a 5 year term.When you register your domain you can create different contact names. The three contacts are Administrator, Technical and Billing. Most of the time the same person is all 3 contacts. If you web designer registers your domain name for you, make sure you are designated as the Administrative contact. This gives you control over the domain name and you must be notified if someone is trying to make changes to your record. You'll see the complete record of your domain name, where it's registered and where your website is hosted. I highly recommend paying the additional fee to make your information private. If you leave your registration public anyone can look up your domain information which includes your home or business address and your email address. Many spammers scan public domain registration records to find valid email addresses to spam.I always use a yahoo or hotmail email account when registering my domains. This way if spammers to find my email address, I can just get a new "throwaway" email address and I won't receive spam at my primary email address.Always make sure your domain record remains locked. Locking your domain name is a feature implemented a few years ago. When you want to transfer your domain name to a different registrar you must unlock it. Once it's unlocked the new registrar can "pull" your domain name from your current registrar. Why do we need to Trade Using Multiple Timeframes?
To improve the efficiency of our trading strategy. We see the major Trend using a higher time frame than what we intend to use & a lower Time frame to enter a trade.
Say we want to trade using the Daily Charts. We take the Weekly charts to see the major trend. Suppose itÂ’s an uptrend in a Weekly chart. We will tend to trade only long positions. We will use entries in the daily charts to enter long positions only. When sell signals are generated we will just exit our long positions. I.e. we donÂ’t short sell.
Suppose itÂ’s a downtrend in a Weekly chart. We will tend to trade only short positions. We will use a entries in the daily charts to enter short positions only. When buy signals are generated we will just exit our short positions. I.e. we donÂ’t enter long positions.
Now that we are using two timeframes. Now coming to timing the entry of trades or adding additional positions. (Pyramiding) We can further use a Hourly chart to time our entries. Supposethe weekly & daily charts are in a uptrend. We will enter a long position or an additional long position when a hourly chart gives us a buy signal. Supposethe weekly & daily charts are in a downtrend. We will enter a short position or an additional short position when a hourly chart gives us a sell signal. This timeframe would not be used to exit the trades. ItÂ’s solely to improve the timing for entry. For exits we would use the signals generated in the daily charts.
Using multiple time frames to trade
We take three charts of the same security. First is the weekly chart. Next chart is the daily chart. Third chart is the hourly chart.
We will now use the daily chart to trade. We check the weekly chart for the weekly trend. Lest assume the weekly trend is up. So based on this information we will just trade long positions in the daily chart.
We look for a buy opportunity in the daily chart or we can see the hourly chart to enter a long position.
Now for entering additional positions we use buy opportunities in the hourly chart. We would exit based on the daily chart only, because we were trading based on the daily chart.
Similarly we can trade short where weekly charts are in a downtrend and daily chart generates sell opportunity. Additional positions are entered whenever sell opportunities are generated on the hourly charts.
For Day trading we can use the Hourly, 15 Min and 5 Min charts here we trade the 15 Minchart. Or we can use 15 Min, 5 Mins and 3 Mins charts here we trade the 5 Mins chart.
