Cancer, Positive Attitudes, Affirmations & Actions to Help Survive YOUR Cancer Experience
Atlanta, GA, July 24, 2005: Cancer is a battle that requires all the tools of heaven and earth to fight. These positive techniques are alternative medicine and atlernative healing for the mind.Beginning your healing journey:
1. Separate YOUR identity from the Cancer's identity.
2. You are a person, who is having a Cancer "experience."
3. Recognize that an "experience" comes and goes!
4. Your Cancer âœexperienceâ is your life's reset button! Learn from it.
5. Cancer may be in your physical body, however, it is NOT in your Soul or spiritual body!!!Cancer is a diagnosis. Although it affects your life, it is NOT necessarily a life sentence. Rather than fearfullyaccepting your diagnosis, do research! Knowledge is empowering.Health Affirmations: A spiritual healing is different from a physical healing!! Your goal is integration and the balance of both to create allover well being and health.
Talk to your cells, your blood, your organs, your bones, etc, they are live entities!!!!! You are the commander of YOUR body! Take charge and command your cells to be healthy. You do not have to accept and enable what's happening to them. You may command the cells in your body that are here to serve your Soul!Cancel, Cancel, Cancel, Next, Positive!: Remember thoughts have ripple effects. To stop every negative thought and action in your environment whether you think it, say it, or are in the field of someone else who says or does something negative.POSITIVE PEOPLE ONLY!!! YOUR LIFE DEPENDS ON IT!
You can erode all of the positive energy that you have generated by being in negative circumstances. Do not repeat negative thoughts and actions or be in the presence of negative energies (ie âœdownerâ individuals, no matter where, caregivers, friends, stores, phone calls, emails etc).NEVER EVER OWN YOUR DISORDER & make it a part of your being!Anger: at your disease circumstances lowers the energy that you use to heal yourself. Positive energy creates more healing energy.Feeling Vulnerable:
You are vulnerable, so admit it. The key to your success is to accept your vulnerability. By accepting your vulnerability you are dealing with reality, and can better understand how to protect and take care of yourself. Accepting your vulnerability is a positive action. It allows you to accurately assess your position's strengths and weaknesses. Then you can plan a more accurate course of action based on fact, probabilities, and hope. Being in denial is a false sense of security. Denial leads to enabling poor or harmful choices and decisions that could create a worse scenario.Being Overwhelmed:
Is natural! The key to your battle is to limit the time that you allow yourself to be overwhelmed. Set aside a few hours or no more than 3 days to get quiet with yourself to regroup mentally. Shut out all "well wishers" and even family if necessary for a brief time. Even a general needs time alone to "grasp" the situation at hand, to plan strategies, and to announce to the world the decisions he made. When you just can't handle ONE >>>>MORE>>>THING! and you just don't have the stamina for ONE>>>MORE">>>THING>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> cry, rest, yell, read, whatever it takes, and sleep!
Do something wonderful for yourself, and pray like crazy. Those actions will get you through the overwhelming time period until you CAN go forward. Don't feel guilty if you don't maintain a positive attitude all the time, especially when you arenâ™t feeling good, or have just been given some new diagnostic information. It doesn't matter how strong, resilient or good you are at coping with and handling what you are dealt, there will be times that are "downers', and that you are feel mentally distressed. It is imperative that you take, and make, time to handle and mentally and emotionally process all that you have been dealt.
Do not be ashamed to feel overwhelmed. Using this time wisely will allow you to gain more understanding, strength, and direction about your strategies for your life!Venting:
"I'm SO tired of fighting." Isn't that the truth! Anyone who hasn't been there will not understand.
When all the actions, affirmations and attitudes and every "fighting" tool is just too much, take a break, and give yourself a break! You can verbally vent or cry, till it's all out!Crying is PERFECTLY OK! It's normal, and cleansing. It's an energetic releasing. It's clearing out the old grieving energy, to make way for the new positive healing energy. Release the pain, the fear, your frustration. Then you'll be refreshed to go forward with something positive. :)Be Gentle with Yourself:
It is imperative that you also be gentle with yourself, and require others to do so.
Every so often, announce and have a "Gentle Day." This day should be a mental, emotional, spiritual and physical "spa" day for the weary warrior in you.
You've earned it!!! You deserve it!!
Even the strongest warriors need a foot massage, soft words, and hugs! Mark your "Gentle Day" on your calendar. PLAN wonderful, soothing, pamper yourself events.
Balance, is as important as winning a battle!
SO you "expanded" that strict diet for 5 minutesâ¦â¦â¦. the joy you had with the sugar free ice cream, and the positive energizing feeling it gave youâ¦â¦ matters!!!!! Don't be so hard on yourself.
Don't get so caught up in surviving, that you forget to live!
Don't forget to enjoy the fact that you ARE alive!Know as much or MORE than your Health Care provider so you can ask questions that YOUR LIFE DEPENDS ON!!!And last but NOT least,Perspective: There is ALWAYS someone who is worse off than youâ¦â¦â¦â¦.and although you may not be happy with your current situation, they would be GLAD to trade place with you and your situation!
Choose to âœExperienceâ Cancer, Believe YOU Are, and BE the Survivor! You are invited to download our free pamphlet with excerpts from this book. We hope this pamphlet will help your healing journey.

Console Gaming vs. Computer Gaming
It?s an age-old question that will only get more and more intense in the coming year as the Xbox 360 is in full swing and the PS3 and Revolution release. Which is better? What system is right for me? Well, I would suggest both, but if you have to choose one or the other then you have to consider a few things.Price is definitely a big issue. I mean, when?s the last time you didn?t even bat an eye when are buying something 500 bucks or more? The bottom line: Computer gaming is more expensive. Why? Because computers aren?t made just for games. They are calculators, word processors, Internet navigators, music players, movie watchers, and photo editors. They are much more than a gaming machine. Consoles, on the other hand, generally aren?t. It?s only recently that consoles have gone online starting with the Dreamcast and I haven?t seen anyone printing off spreadsheets or book reports from one yet. Consoles are purely for gaming and run between 100-500 bucks. PCs on the other hand are much more than a gaming machine and run between 1,500-3,000 dollars and need to be upgraded every now and again to play the newest and greatest games.Genre is an issue. If you are a Real Time Strategy fan and only have a console, I mourn for you. And if you are a platformer fan, then computer gaming will be a sad mistake. Genre makes a big deal because of the controller vs. keyboard/mouse issue. Different games play much better on the different configurations. Computer gaming is best for Real Time Strategy (RTS) games, First Person Shooters (FPS), Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Games (MMORG), Flight Simulation games, and Point and Click Adventure games. The consoles on the other hand are better for Fighting games, Action/Adventure games, Platformers, Role Playing Games (RPG), and Sports games.Tech savvy can possibly be an issue. Computers are a little more unstable than consoles. I mean, when?s the last time you saw a Playstation lock up or get a blue screen of death? Never, right? The same thing comes in here. Some computer games might be a little stubborn to set up the way your computer likes it or your computer might not meet the system requirements. Consoles, on the other hand, don?t have that problem. The people designing the games have to fit the requirements of the console so that you don?t have a problem. If you have a basic knowledge of computers, you?ll be fine. If you don?t, then a console might be better for you.So as I?ve explained, if you want more than a gaming system for school and work or you just like gaming genres like RTS and MMORG games, I would go with a PC. If you love platformers, Action/Adventure, or Sports games or your wallet is a tad on the empty side, I?d go with a console. It won?t be able to surf the Internet or help you with anything else, but it?ll play some great games. If you want a console by the end of this article, then you have 3 options at the moment. You could buy a Gamecube if you like innovation, buy a Xbox if you like the best graphics and FPS games, or buy a PS2 if you want a huge library of games or love fighting games, Action/Adventure games, platformers, and RPG games. You also have another option. You could wait until the Xbox 360 comes out this month and get that or wait until the Nintendo Revolution and PS3 come out next year.If you want advise on gaming computers and computer gaming, then www.gaming-computers-authority.com is a great resource for all your questions and even has a tutorial on building your own computer. About The AuthorJared StropWell, my name is Jared Strop and I just got a job at GameStop and have started a website devoted to computer gaming called www.gaming-computers-authority.com.

Consolidate Debt to you Credit Cards
Credit card companies are constantly looking for ways to get more customers. One way they do this is by offering extremely low interest rates for people who want to move a large balance to the cards. For many people this looks attractive because it is an easy way to get a debt consolidation loan with virtually no fees. While this isn't necessarily a bad strategy, you need to make sure you read the fine print and have a solid plan for what to do once the introductory period is over. Some credit companies will offer you 0% interest for a year, but after the year the rate jumps to 20%. If you don't understand all of the little details of the loan, you may find yourself worse off than before. Using plastic credit in this way can be a good thing if it helps you get out of debt. However, if the additional credit becomes a temptation and causes you to go deeper into debt than before the low interest loan can do more harm than good.If you are looking at using a credit card for this, make sure you understand exactly what the terms are. Also make sure you keep a copy of the terms so you have them to backup any dispute you may have. In addition you need to have a plan for what to do if you are unable to pay off the balance by the time the rate goes back up. For example you might want to take out a home equity loan on your house to pay off the balance. Some people may even have the cash available, but would rather earn interest on their money instead of pay off the debt. For those people they can just pay off the balance from their savings (or look for another great credit card deal). The problem with this type of strategy is the fact that it is very easy to spend money, but difficult to control it. For many people just having a larger line of credit available will be too much of a temptation. If you are able to discipline your spending however, these credit card deals can work to your advantage. The Debt Consolidation blog offers insights into managing and reducing your debt. Overview of the Rental Property Market in India
After information technology, the property or real estate rental sector is the most dynamic sector in the Indian business scenario today. Major factors that are responsible for bringing about this change include, increasing popularity of electronic commerce among people, growth in information technology/information technology-enabled services industry, emergence of India as an important investment centre in the world market, growth in foreign direct investments and others.
This budding sector is today witnessing development in all its major segments like, residential, retail and commercial in all of the metropolitan cities of the country like Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata. At present the country's commercial and residential real estate market has a price tag of about $50 billion, and is expected to grow 25% in a yearly basis. This growth in the property market is being led largely by the rapid expansion of its information technology industry and the simultaneous growth in the purchasing power of the Indian middle class.
Major growth is being witnessed by the commercial property sector as more and more multinational companies are entering the Indian market. Foreign information technology and customer services companies of the BPO sector are renting large commercial spaces in order to expand their business process in India. The growth and the highly mobile nature of the Indian middle class have brought about a boom in the residential real estate segment. Today, people are ready to pay large sums as rent for apartments, flats and homes in metros. The rapid rise in the number of lessee has been compensated by reciprocal growth in the number of lessor. People have come to know the residential real estate as an important investment option. Today, they are investing heavily in the residential real estate market and leasing their homes and apartments for rent and this has further boosted the property rental sector in India. Moreover, the key factor behind the sudden rise of the Indian real estate sector is the changing policy of the Indian government toward foreign direct investment and joint ventures. The Indian government is relaxing and is keen to liberalize its trade regulations for multinationals.
So, from investors point or price everything is gearing up for a rapid growth in the property rental sector in the next few years. For those who are interested to invest in India this seems to be the right time.Smantha Sen is an associated editor of website www.realtymantrarentals.com. The website is a rent guide, dedicated to provide all information required for rental properties all across India. Your queries and suggestions are welcomed at smanthasen@gmail.com.

The Importance Of Valentine's Day
February is coming, and it will bring the day of love with it.
Most of the lovers are already planning for the day.
What gift to give, where to meet, what to do to make the day more romantic than any other day?Why and how is Valentine's Day celebrated? No one quite knows, why it is celebrated, but it surely makes a big difference in life of lovers. This is the most important day for lovers. They all go mad in love on this day,and can think of nothing but how to please their beloved. It is recorded that business of jewelry takes a big jump during February. So does the business of flowers, candies and cards. Every other gift that can be thought of is bought across most of the countries of the world and is sent to the beloved. What about others?Valentine's Day may be the most important day for those in love. What about others? Let us take a look at today's world. Wars, terrorism, fear, murders, and every other destruction that can disturb a peaceful life is the norm. Open a newspaper, watch news on television or read it on Internet, the disturbing news is getting predominance. It depresses the common person in the world. Isn't it? What does a common person think of
the future of such a world? Can anyone be optimistic? Can anyone visualize of peace dawning around the world, countries co existing in peace with each other and no ethnic wars being fought anywhere? What does one look forward to in such a world? I think that most of us have become so numb with disturbances, both man made and natural that we have stopped thinking of future. For a large majority it is "let us try to live peacefully today".Valentine's Day and the world peace -With so much destruction going around,, shouldn't one welcome a day, when love reigns supreme? A day, when hatred and destruction takes back seat and one only thinks of love? What if we begin a new way of celebration? Begin sending love messages to our enemies. Begin talking of love and peace and try something that can reduce our conflicts with others? Why keep the day confined to romantic love. Take a step forward and make it a day to make every human being love another. Irrespective of race, nation, religion, etc. Break all the outer barriers and try to touch the heart of all we can? Can this be done? Let us at least think of Valentine's Day as a day, when all the hatred and enmity is forgotten and it is the song of love that is played around. Is that not a
big contribution of this day? That is why it is so important.Mohatta writes about different aspect of life. Learn About Falun Dafa
I have been practicing an advanced form of qigong for almost 5
years now. The name of this practice is Falun Dafa.Have you ever heard of or seen Tai Chi? Falun Dafa is
similar and yet very different. It is similar in the sense that
is has slow and gentle movements. It is dissimilar in the sense
that it is easy to learn. There are only 5 gentle exercises to
that are so simple and easy to learn that a small child or an
extremely elderly person could still learn and do them.Another major advantage that Falun Dafa has is that it is free to
learn and practice. There are no class fees or ongoing monthly
dues to pay. You can download video instructions from a Falun
Dafa web site or you can learn from an actual volunteer
instructor. The volunteer instructors can be found in almost every major city
around the world. And they won't charge anything to teach you
this wonderful, energizing, health promoting exercise practice. I
know this for a fact because I also serve as a volunteer
instructor in the Kansas City area.So what have I obtained from the practice after 5 years? That's
an easy and exciting question to answer. After just two months of
this practice, a nagging and recurring back pain that I had for
many years went away. I was able to stop getting back treatments
from my chiropractor. That was 5 years ago and I haven't needed
any further treatment since. What is exciting about the above example is that previously I
tried many things to alleviate my back problem. Nothing else
worked!I've always been relatively healthy with only minor health issues
throughout my life. I have met other people that had more severe
health issues that also received total relief from practicing
Falun Dafa. What do the exercises entail? Let's talk about them here. What I'm about to describe is from my own experiences, if you
would like a more accurate description and explanation of the
exercises, please reference a book by Li, Hongzhi, the man who
brought Falun Dafa out to the public. The name of his book is
Falun Gong. You can get a copy of his book for free from the main
Falun Dafa web site, falundafa.org.The first exercise is a gentle one that involves stretching from
head to toe. To perform one cycle of the exercise takes about 3
or 4 minutes. It is done from a standing position with the knees
and hips relaxed, until the gentle upward stretch that
accompanies each of the exercise's movements. When practiced this 3 or 4 minute exercise is usually repeated
three times. In normal circumstances, it takes about 12 minutes
to repeat this exercise a total of three times. The second exercise is a standing stance with 4 positions. Each
position is held for a length of time that can vary depending on
the ability of the practitioner. In the beginning it would be
fine to just hold each position for maybe 1 minute each or even
less, depending on the person's ability and comfort zone.Advanced practitioners might work up to as long as 7 minutes or
more for each position. However, you can gradual improve your
time according to your own wishes and abilities. The third exercise is a gentle exercise where you move your arms
up and down in front of the body. In the first half of this
exercise the hands go in opposite directions. In the second half,
the arms go in the same direction. Each repetition of the
exercise takes about 3 minutes. Generally, when practiced, people will repeat this exercise three times, for a total duration of about 9 minutes. The fourth exercise is similar but different in that the hands
trace a path around the entire body. The path travels along the
front of the body and then up the back of the body. The hands
reach about the level of the mid-back before being brought in
front of the body again. The path is traced for a total of 9
times constituting one repetition of the exercise. The fourth exercise is generally repeated three times when
practiced. When done this way the total time to repeat this
exercise three times is about twelve minutes. The fifth exercise is done sitting down in the cross-legged
position. The leg cross can be simple "Indian" style or slightly
more advanced depending on the ability and comfort zone of the
person practicing. There is a sequence of hand gestures at the beginning and there
are positions to hold. The duration of holding the hand positions
can vary. Once again, how long is determined by the person
practicing. Both how long you hold the hand positions and the
overall duration of the exercise are entirely at the discretion
of the person practicing. In the beginning a person might only practice the fifth exercise
for a few minutes. Advanced users may practice for an hour or
longer. Again, it all depends on the ability and comfort level of
the person practicing. These are very simple explanations of the exercises. For more
detailed and accurate accounts of the exercises read Falun Gong
by Li, Hongzhi. Or alternatively, you can download his
instruction videos from the main Falun Dafa web site mentioned
previously.Mr. Li also has another book called Zhuan Falun, which to my
understanding expounds on the characteristics of the universe:
Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance. I wrote that with the hyphens
to underscore that this is one characteristic and not three
separate ones. Again, that is my understanding about them and
much more profound understandings can be found in the book Zhuan
Falun itself.Because you can practice Falun Dafa with others in a group
setting without being charged any initial or recurring fees, it
seems like the perfect alternative to other exercises that charge
money to participate in. Exercising with a group or alone is fine
and each person may have his or her own preference on that. It's
enjoyable either way.I personally practice it both ways. On the weekends we do have a
group practice here in the Kansas City area and you are welcome
to come join us if you are in the area. Fortunately, many cities
throughout the United States, Canada and around the world have
similar group practices. You don't have to come to Kansas City to
enjoy this wonderful practice.I have one last item of note. It seems that some people can't
stand to see others enjoy something good. And this is no
different. The current person that runs China, Jiang Zemin, is
terribly furious at people who practice Falun Gong for no logical
reason that anyone can come up with. He brutally persecutes those
who practice it in China. If you want to learn more about the persecution of Falun Gong in
China, there is a web site that you can visit, faluninfo.net.
They even offer suggestions to help end the persecution if you
are so inclined.I do hope you get the chance to experience what I have from the
practice. The health of my body and a deep sense of peace and
well being are some of what I have obtained. This article is for information purposes only. The information is

any health problems. If you have or think you might have any type
of health condition, please consult your primary care physician

Why Chocolate Melts In Your Mouth, Not In Your Hand
(NC)?Ever wonder why those delicious little chocolates hardly ever melt in your hand? Pop them in your mouth, and they transform into soft, gooey liquid. Here's the secret? The way chocolate is manufactured has changed considerably. Originally, chocolate was made with cocoa butter, derived from cocoa beans. Cocoa butter naturally melts at the temperature in your mouth: 37?C. This is about as hot as a tropical jungle! Over time, the price of cocoa butter escalated, and its supply became somewhat unstable. As a result, chocolate manufacturers turned to cocoa butter alternatives like those derived from coconut oil, palm oil, and shea oil ? which comes from the Shea-Karite tree, native to tropical Africa. However, these butters don't possess the same melting point as cocoa butter. A precise science, called "hydrogenation", is required to alter them. Hydrogenation is the process of inserting hydrogen gas into hot oil, at scalding temperatures between 120?C and 210?C. Upon completion, the substitute butters have new solidifying and melting points.Hydrogen is a versatile element that appears as a gas, liquid or solid. Estimated to make up more than 75% of all mass, it is the most abundant element in the universe. Discovered in 1766 by Henry Cavendish, hydrogen is even found in the stars. This element is the secret behind your chocolate's melting properties. However, research now indicates that hydrogenated oils produce "trans fats" that interfere with cellular function and prevent our bodies from acquiring essential fatty acids that are important for our health. Consuming hydrogenated oils can lead to obesity, clogged arteries and other diseases. But hydrogen isn't all bad. It can be combined with other molecules to produce plastics, and is used to polish glass. An unlimited, renewable resource, hydrogen is also an environmentally friendly energy alternative. It holds the promise of solving air pollution problems, reducing Canada's dependence on foreign oil, and eliminating oil spills.Air Liquide, the global leader in industrial gases, explores hydrogen's energy uses. The company is partnering with automobile manufacturers to develop hydrogen-powered cars that emit clean water rather than harmful pollutants. Other benefits of hydrogen cars are: no mechanical parts (such as a transmission), no need for lubricating oils, and easier maintenance. It is estimated that hydrogen cars won't hit the road for another decade, although the world's first hydrogen bus has already conducted field tests in Germany.- News Canada News Canada provides a wide selection of current, ready-to-use copyright free news stories and ideas for Television, Print, Radio, and the Web. Property Taxes, Home Insurance and Your Standard of Living
How do Property Taxes and Insurance affect your standard of living? It always amazes me how people look only at the price of a product and neglect to consider the true cost of ownership. For most a car purchase is based solely on emotion and the sticker price. They never bother to check on insurance rates, cost of repairs and maintance. In Real Estate there can be an even greater impact. One which can determine whether you live like a pauper or a king. On Sun, Apr. 15, 2007 MARTHA BRANNIGAN reported in the Miami Herald, South Florida Homeowners Feel the Tax Imbalance. She writes, "Claus and her husband, Brad Wagshul, a federal law clerk, bought their 1,473-square-foot house for $215,000 in 2000. Their tax bill was $3,482 last year. But right next door, Erin Kobetz and Joshua Diem, who bought a slightly smaller three-bedroom, two-bath home on an identical lot in 2004, were taxed $6,323 -- 82 percent higher.Among the largely comparable homes along Southwest 63rd Place, property taxes last year ranged from $2,278 to $9,432. Some neighbors -- such as those with second homes and rental properties -- aren't eligible for the precious 3 percent cap on tax increases, and they are paying the most of all.A block away live Ximena and Kurt Prelle, who bought their home at 8215 SW 63rd Pl. in 2003 for $280,000, before the hot run-up in prices that boosted some homes in the neighborhood above the half-million-dollar mark. But you can't tell their good fortune from their property taxes. The Prelles, who are from Peru, are in the United States on work visas and haven't yet obtained permanent U.S. residency. That means they aren't eligible for the homestead exemption or Save Our Homes cap. So every year, their taxes have soared along with the rising property values. The Prelles forked over $8,550 for 2006 property taxes on their three-bedroom, two-bathroom house, which was assessed at $412,134.In Panama I have had people see home prices as an 'incredable bargain' or 'too pricey' based on where they are from. Some have even said, "I can buy a place in Florida for that!" Well, yes maybe you can but have you considered the true cost of ownership and how that affects your lifestyle? In his Blog, developer Sam Taliaferro writes, "This weekend I had a visitor from Florida who shared with me that his insurance on his home in Boca Raton is over $7000 a year. On top of that the taxes have been increasing each year to where it is over $8000 for an under 2000 square foot home. When you compare Panama (And Valle Escondido specifically) where the insurance on a 2500 square foot home is about $450 and the property taxes are zero for the next 20 years, you can see why Panama has become so popular. Those Mountains in the Back - Identifying Your Old Family Photos
I read an article recently about the quantity of family photos
we accumulate in our lifetime. I think it said somewhere around
1,200 in any given household, the majority of which are
unmarked. I can believe thatâ"the unmarked part especially.
I'm horrible when it comes to jotting a note on the back of my
photos. "My photos" refer to the ones that were taken by me or a
living member of my family. I even have photos undeveloped from
the 1980s, but I intend to get them developed "sometime real
soonâ"as soon I get a chance."
It's the same story with my hobby photo collection, which
contains tens of thousands of photos. Most of the photos are of
note-less, name-less faces. If it weren't for the photographers'
marks, they would be of nameless, placeless faces. I refer to
these nameless, placeless photos as "incredibly lost."
I wonder why many of our ancestors didn't put names on their
photos. Was it laziness? I originally blamed sloth, but then I
changed my mind. If you look on the back of c1900 onward
vacation snapshots, you can find notes like: "This is Uncle John
next to Harvey Johnson's Boat," "Those mountains behind me are
the High Sierras" and "That's an Esso station were we stopped to
fill'er up on our way to Lake Henry." It takes a lot more time
to jot down "where" and "what" notes than it does to jot down a
"John Hancock," and most vacation photos have something written
on them. Yes, I've concluded that it was not laziness.
After thinking for a while, it hit me. Why would we even bother
to write our names on the back? We all know who we are, so
there's no need to jot down a name when we already know what
that name is. Besides, if people we don't know look at the
photo, why would they even care to know who's in the photo?
Unless, of course, they're curious about that gas station, in
which case they could turn the photo over to find out that it
was somewhere on the road to Lake Henry.
So here they sit: all these photos from the 1800s and early
1900s with no clues as to who most of these people are.
Personally, I want to know who they are, as I'm sure many of you
do, too. Unfortunately, some people discard their nameless
photos. Fortunately, some people find them.
Even more fortunately, the Internet has opened a big, big door.
Now we can scan those found unknown "genealogy orphans" onto our
computers, post them onto DeadFred.com and increase the chances
that someone will help fill in the blanks. It happens every day
now. Who would have thought?
Anyway, I'm going to get those 1980s undeveloped film rolls
developed real soon and share them with you. I might need some
help identifying a few of the people in them.

Flowers Speak Too
It is traditional and stylish to say it with flowers. You can send flowers to say welcome; I am sorry; I love you; and many more. Beautifully arranged and fragrant flowers can brighten up a persons day. World over, flowers have been in use since ancient times to decorate palaces and homes, in rituals, during spring dances, as a part of weddings, and more.Flowers are not selected randomly, over the years they have developed meanings. For example, the acacia means concealed love, chaste love or beauty; the aster symbolizes both love and daintiness; a pink carnation means says I will never forget you; while the yellow says rejection or disappointment; the tulip says you have sunshine in your smile. Then of course there are birthday flowers. Those born in February have the primrose and violet as birth flowers; while the larkspur and water lily are birth flowers for those born in July; and the holly, narcissus, and poinsettia are flowers for birthdays in December. Birth signs too have specific flowers: for Arians who are passionate and adventurous the flowers are red roses, tulips, and amaryllis while for Scorpios the flowers are hibiscus, peony, and amaranthus among others. The colors of flowers have meaning and speak a language that is their own and there are scientific as well as traditional interpretations.Traditionally: Red flowers signify romance. Yellow flowers friendship. White flowers reverence. Peach flowers thanks. Pink flowers appreciation. Orange flowers flames of desire. Purple flowers mean love at first sight.Scientifically speaking, colors are known to affect the mind and soul. So, a color can spread joy, relieve tensions, energize a person, or sooth. In fact, flowers are known to have healing properties too: Black lends power, confidence, and self esteem. Blue is calming to the mind and soul. The color is known to lower blood pressure and relieve hypertension. Red sets the pulse racing and is known to induce passions. Green is nurturing and relaxes the mind and body. Violet induces calm and peace. Pink soothes and is like a salve, cool and calm. Yellow is energetic and spreads sunshine. All over the world, there are many traditions and beliefs and poems as well as stories that glorify the beauty and uniqueness of flowers. Some kinds of flowers have a special place in coronations, rituals, and celebrations. Flowers have always blessed life on earth and will always be there for you to gift and say I care. The language of flowers is not set, rigid, or universal. They have different meanings and connotations in different parts of the world. Flowers can help you express thoughts, feelings, and emotions, they do the needful when words are difficult to say. Cold and Flu Season Are Almost Here!
Cold and flu season are almost here! These truly are the most common illnesses in humans because of how easily they can be spread (both through the air and through touch). Now is the time to strengthen your immune system (the shield that protects your body from germs, bacteria and viruses ) so that you are able to protect yourself. This is important because if you have a weak immune system, you're more vulnerable to getting sick. This doesn't mean that you'll never catch a cold, but when you have a strong immune system you'll be better able to fight off any illness, that you do get, faster. So, here are several things that you can do to make sure that your immune system stays healthy and becomes strong. The first thing that you need to do is take care of your nutrition. There is truth in the old saying: "garbage in, garbage out." If you have bad eating habits, you'll have poor nutrition, which means that your body won't get the appropriate vitamins that it needs in order to stay strong. This doesn't mean that you can't have an occassional cheeseburger or ice cream cone, but moderation is the key. Even when you do eat healthily, you will still need to take nutritional supplements (ie vitamins, minerals and immune boosters) in order to help fill in the blanks. You're also going to need to exercise properly in order to build yourself a strong immune system. Now this doesn't mean that you need to go out and join a gym or hire a personal trainer. What it does mean is that you should take nice long walks, regular bike rides, get up and do some housework or gardening. It's simply a matter of not being sedintary... Get up and move!Of course there are also some things which you should avoid. For instance, excessive stress (especially emotional stress) and smoking can really compromise and weaken your immune system. Studies have shown that cigarette smoke can irritate the airways and increase susceptibility to colds and other infections. Even exposure to passive smoke can make you (or your children) more vulnerable to colds. You should also be certain to wash your hands often and always avoid touching your face, especially the nose, mouth, and eye areas. This is especially true if you've been around someone with a cold or if you've been touching surfaces in a public area. Frequent hand washing can destroy viruses that you have acquired from touching surfaces used by other people. Of course, carrying hand sanitizer with you will also help. You're not going to be able to do these things overnight either. It's going to take work, time, effort, and concentration on your part. It is something that we must continuously strive for throughout our entire lives. I urge you to go ahead and get started today! However, if you still do get a cold or the flu there are some things that you can do to help keep the rest of your family from getting sick.Use disposable cups so that your children won't accidentally drink after someone else. Keep the rest of your household surfaces clean too. Viruses especially love hiding in your door knobs, drawer pulls, keyboards, light switches, telephones, remote controls, countertops, and sinks. These surfaces should frequently be disinfected. Your child's toys should also be frequently washed whenever he/she is ill. It is also highly recommended that you use paper towels in the kitchen and bathroom for hand washing since germs can live for up to several hours on cloth towels. An alternative is to have separate towels for each family member and provide a clean one for guests. If you choose to use paper towels, they should be immediately thrown away after use, as should tissues. (Used tissues are sources of virus that can contaminate any surface where they are left.)Reverend Brenda Hoffman, is ordained by the Universal Life Church, and has been delivering holistic health and wellness advice for over 7 years since receiving a BA in psychology. Secrets Of Happy Moms
Have you ever noticed how some Moms seem to be very contented and confident in their role as Mothers, and others seem chronically stressed and approaching burnout? Why are some Moms unflappable and able to keep their sense of humor, while others overreact to the slightest stressors in their day?
I"m currently observing and interviewing these happy Moms as I conduct research for an upcoming book. While all Moms are different, these women usually have several of the following traits in common.
1) They keep it simple.
I know one Mom who grocery shops every two weeks and buys the exact same thing every time to prepare the same menu of 14 dinners. Why does she do this? She"s picked the family"s favorite meals for her menu to save herself time and arguments at the dinner table. Anyone with kids knows they like to eat the same things over and over! This Mom has decided not to reinvent the wheel twice a month. This is just one example of keeping it simple.
2) They teach their kids to be independent.
This doesn"t mean they leave them to their own devices all day. But a smart Mom knows that a 2 year old can put a dish in the dishwasher, a 4 year old can prepare his own peanut butter and jelly sandwich, and a 7 year old can sweep a floor (albeit imperfectly!). Call it "outsourcing" for Moms.
3) They drop the SuperMom complex.
Not sweating the small stuff seems to be a common trait of happy Moms. They learn to pick their battles. Getting buckled into a car seat? Not negotiable. Pink paisley pants with the orange plaid shirt? Fashion creativity.
Happy Moms also realize that being an awesome Mom doesn"t mean being a perfect Mom. "Nuff said.
4) They can often be overheard repeating the phrase "This too shall pass".
It doesn"t mean that bothersome behavior in kids should be overlooked, for discipline is a huge time saver in the end. It means that Moms realize that children are...well, uncivilized creatures, and that much uncivilized behavior will simply go away on its own as the child matures. Smart Moms are also keenly aware of their child"s development and don"t expect more of them than they are able to give.
5) Smart Moms take care of themselves.
They don"t blame the baby for their extra weight when the baby in question is potty trained! They put emphasis on good nutrition, avoiding too much by way of stimulants (caffeine, sugar), they get adequate rest, and daily exercise. They realize that you can"t pour from an empty bucket.
6) They live in the moment.
Happy Moms realize that the days are long but the years short. It"s not that they are impervious to stress, it"s that they have learned to lower their expectations and be in the moment when things get difficult. When your toddler is puking all over the house, this is not the time to reorganize the hall closet. A sick day then turns into a time to create sweet memories of hours spent reading and cuddling on the couch.
7) They don"t worry about what others think.
Whether it"s the disapproving glare from the old lady in the checkout line, the Mother in law who is convinced you"re starving the baby by breastfeeding, or the Pediatrician whose medical advice strays into parenting advice, happy Moms learn not to give too much weight to the opinions of those who don"t live in their home.
8) In other words, they trust their instincts.
Whether it"s taking the baby to bed with them so they can get more sleep or taking a bullied child out of public school, smart Moms know that they are the expert of their own babies.
9) Happy Moms have "something else"
It may be a part time home based business or a hobby like belly dancing. These Moms know that some day their babies will fly the coop, and they make sure they have a passion that will give them purpose when that happens.

Philosophy and Cancer Treatment
1000 years ago in Europe pre-Christian tribes originally had a Goddess culture - a matriarchy where the earth and nature and their cycles and secrets were revered. In pre-industrial societies illness was not seen as a 'random assault from outside' but as a deeply significant life event integral to the sufferer's whole being - spiritual, moral, physical and life course - past, present and future. Dis-ease was interpreted as packed with moral, spiritual and religious messages as one of the many ways through which 'God revealed his will to mankind'. Other philosophies of medicine such as Ayurvedic or Tibetan think similarly, in these, dis-ease has a karmic aspect.Around the tenth century in Europe - after the so called 'Dark Ages' - women, the original stewards of the land (men did â˜animal husbandryâ™), were dispossessed of it by the new patriarchies of the Church and State. This male hierarchy hid the things they were most afraid of, namely the fact that it is women who hold the key to the processes and powers of life. They took them as their own, decreeing laws about how we should behave to impose control and inventing 'original sin'. Allied to this there came a prolonged persecution of women, especially any of those involved in healing. Some sources estimate about 5 - 9 million women were destroyed across Europe during this persecution. Essentially the role of women as healers and midwives was discouraged and â˜home-makingâ™ and its many associated skills is still regarded as a â˜worthlessâ™ career according to our primarily fiscal values based on GDP.When a patriarchy takes over a matriarchy as a fundamental paradigm shift, one of the main things that happens is that 'healing' and 'spirituality' are separated out as an instrument of control. The world of spirit and physic were separated and became even more so during the great male 'Age of Reason' that began with Descartes and continued with Newton, the tail-end of which many are presently clinging to in desperation and a degree of applied self-interest.Rene Descartes (1596 - 1650) was a central influence on the 17th century revolution that began modern science and philosophy. His â˜Method of Doubtâ™ was published in 1637:
"I resolved to reject as false everything in which I could imagine the least doubt, in order to see if there afterwards remained anything that was entirely indubitable".The philosophy of â˜Cartesian dualismâ™ became part of our science, where the mind and the body are seen as essentially separate. The â˜selfâ™, the conscious being that is â˜meâ™ was seen as essentially non-physical. Misguidedly (it was not Descartes intention) this philosophy contributed to the mechanistic and rational philosophy of the universe adopted by our culture. Descartes was one of the first people to suggest that phenomena could be understood by breaking them down into constituent parts and examining each minutely. His view of the human body as a machine functioning within a mechanistic universe took prevalence within the â˜Age of Reasonâ™."Consider the human body as a machine. My thought compares a sick man and an ill-made clock with my idea of a healthy man and a well made clock".This attention to analytical detail is still at the heart of our scientific research methodologies. As a result Western medicine has produced â˜World savingâ™ vaccines and antibiotics. It has created drugs and surgical techniques that do utterly amazing things. It has virtually eliminated all the serious communicable diseases (in the First World) such as leprosy, plague, tuberculosis, tetanus, syphilis, rheumatic fever, pneumonia, meningitis, polio, septicaemia. There are very few women dying in childbirth compared to the past. Western medicine has been, and is, a triumph in the face of these problems which worried us back then the way cancer and heart disease worry us today. Even the big medical problems of the of 1930â™s and 40â™s have literally vanished. The age of infectious disease has given way to the age of chronic disorders. The major killers today are heart and vascular disease, chronic degenerative diseases and cancer, largely incurable and increasing in incidence. The strategies that worked so well for all but eliminating acute infectious diseases just donâ™t seem to work for chronic and degenerative conditions."The prevalence of asthma, multiple sclerosis, chronic fatigue, immune deficiency syndrome, HIV and a host of other debilitating conditions is increasing. Conventional biomedicine - so strikingly successful in the treatment of overwhelming infections, surgical and medical emergencies and congenital defects, has been unable to stem the tide of these conditions".
James Gordon M.D., Washington, D.C.Even during the time of Sir Isaac Newton the human body was viewed as an intricate biological machine. The Universe was an orderly, predictable but divine mechanism, a â˜grand clockworkâ™. Although hundreds of years have passed, Western scientific medicine still holds the same basic philosophy, but are more sophisticated in studying biological mechanisms at a molecular level. The first Newtonian approaches were essentially surgical. The body was seen as if it were a complex plumbing system. If it went wrong the offending piece was removed or bypassed. These days instead of using knives, drugs are often used to do more or less the same things.Humans though are far more than walking sacks of chemicals. The animating life-force central to other medical systems is an energy that is not addressed by modern scientific methodology and there are no Western medical models that explain what it is and what it does. It is misguided by the concept that all illnesses are cured by physically repairing or eliminating abnormal cells. This is partly due to a conflict between â˜Westernâ™ and â˜Easternâ™ philosophies and has its roots in the division of science and religion along with the destruction of folk medicine in both U.S. and Europe.Cancer cannot be treated effectively under a philosophy of reductionism. Scientific cancer research has failed to find a cure because it is looking in the wrong places with the wrong tools. Cancer needs to be understood as a â˜wholeâ™ disease in relation to each individualâ™s experience and the culture of which they are part. It has multiple causes that vary with each patient. The strategies that worked so well for tackling acute infectious diseases are inappropriate for dealing with chronic and degenerative conditions. Cancer patients can be at best increasingly â˜patched upâ™ by orthodox treatments but at spiralling health care costs. This is an extract from 'Don't Get Cancer'a new ebook available only at: http://www.simonthescribe.co.uk/don'tget1.html

Tax Tips for Home Buyers and Sellers in 2005
Primary residence buyers and sellers understand the fundamental tax benefits of owning a home. Many though aren't aware beyond the typical deductions of mortgage interest and real estate taxes what and when other home buying or selling expenses can be deducted. The second step in determining the timeline for claiming an expense is separating deductions that can be taken now or costs that must be deferred that are considered part of the basis of owning a home.-Basis is the starting cost for figuring a gain or loss when you sell your home. This starting cost is also used to determine depreciation if you use part of your home for business. Basis must be fair market value. Certain costs can be added to your basis or subtracted, which are called adjustments. Increases to adjustments are: putting an addition on your home, paving a driveway or installing central air-conditioning. Decreases to adjustments are: Casualty loss not covered by insurance, payments received for an easement granted, or depreciation if home is used for business or rental. If you sold a home in 2005 the first step in deciding which column a home buying or selling expense goes under is to take a good look at the RESPA or Real Estate Settlement Proceedures Act form you received at closing or escrow. Take your RESPA and other home buying or selling expenses that you feel might apply to an experienced tax accountant, so they can organize and separate deductions from costs and eliminate non-deductible items. Deferred costs that figure into the basis of a home benefit sellers in the tax year they sold. Some of the out of pocket costs incurred by buyers in the purchase of a home might have to be delayed, which can come as a surprise to buyers. To claim deductions you must itemize on Schedule A form 1040 and under IRS rules if you itemize you can't claim the standard deduction. To see more tax information for first-time homeowners pick up Internal Revenue Form 530 for 2005. Many deductions or costs have exceptions that you must meet to claim a deduction or cost basis expense. Here are some basic guidelines that buyers and sellers should be familiar with before entering a contract to purchase or sell a home.Deductions-Mortgage interest. Your main or a second home must secure mortgages.-Late payment charges on a mortgage. Only deductible if it wasn't for a specific service in connection with your loan.-Mortgage prepayment penalties. Only deductible if it wasn't for a specific service in connection with your loan.-Real estate taxes. Property taxes actually paid in the tax year.-Home improvement, mortgage and refinancing loan origination points. You must meet set guidelines or spread costs over life of the mortgage.Costs-Transfer taxes. State, county or local. Charges you paid charged by governments when a home is bought or sold.-Owner's title insurance.-Recording fees. Fees charge by governments to have mortgages, satisfactions, deeds and other legal documents registered into databases.-Legal and Abstract fees.-Property surveys.-Real estate brokerage commissions.-Local assessments that increase the value of your property. New sidewalks, streets, sewer and water systems are costs.-Special homeowners association condominium assessments that cover capital improvements such as a new roof, not roof repairs.-Charges for installing utility services for new construction.Don't plan on taking as a cost or deduction.-Mortgage principal payments.-Mortgage insurance premiums.-FHA and VA funding fees.-Credit report fees.-Loan application fees.-Loan assumption fees.-Notary fees.-Mortgage note preparation costs.-Appraisal fees by mortgage lender.-Home inspections.-Moving costs. Unless you relocated to a new job, restrictions apply.-Cleaning costs when moving in or out of a home.-Condominium homeowner association assessments.-Condominium homeowner association application, move-in and move-out fees.-Rent for occupancy before closing.-Homeowner's insurance premiums.-Wages for household help.-Depreciation.-Contributions to a tax escrow accounts that were not paid to a taxing authority.-The cost of cable-TV, electricity, gas, telephone or water.-Charges for services such as trash collection or periodic service charges for lawn mowing or snow shoveling when in violation of local ordinances.-Repairs. An expense that keeps your home in ordinary and efficient operating condition such as fixing gutters leaks, broken windows and cracked drywall.-Gifts to buyers or sellers such as flowers, gift baskets or entertainment.-Your own labor for an improvement. An improvement is based on the actual costs of material labor except your own.Cooperatives offer many tax benefits for homeowners, but they do have special tax rules. Consult a qualified tax accountant who specializes in cooperatives. The IRS requires that you keep records that affect the basis cost and deductions until the limitations for income tax returns expires, typically a set period of time after you sell your home.Mark Nash's fourth real estate book, "1001 Tips for Buying and Selling a Home" (2005), and working as a real estate broker in Chicago are the foundation for his consumer-centric real estate perspective which has been featured on ABC-TV,CBS The Early Show, Bloomberg TV, CNN-TV, Chicago Sun Times & Tribune, Fidelity Investor's Weekly, Dow Jones Market Watch, MSNBC.com, The New York Times, Realty Times, Universal Press Syndicate and USA Today.
